 Lyons Falls- Delia Ruth (McDougall) Mooney Brooks, 91, widow of James Brooks, longtime resident of Town Line Road, Greig, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice, at the Abraham House of Rome.

She was born on the McDougall homestead, in the Town of Lyonsdale, on July 26, 1932, a daughter of Raymond and Anna Sweeney McDougall.  Delia received her education at Lyons Falls Central School.

She was employed for many years as a caregiver at the Weber Adult Home, Port Leyden, before thirteen years of employment as a developmental aid at New York State DDSO Home, Port Leyden, retiring in 1997.

On October 9, 1948, Delia was married to Stanley Mooney, at the Port Leyden Congregational Church.  Mr. Mooney passed away in 1974.   On July 30, 1977, she was married to James W. Brooks, at the Bible Fellowship Church, Lyons Falls.  Mr. Brooks passed away on June 6, 2003.

Delia is survived by four sons and their wives; Randy (Jan) Mooney, Lyndon (Cindy) Mooney, Terry (Chris) Mooney, Jamie (Mary) Brooks.  She was predeceased by two daughters, Janice as an infant, and Debra Aubrey, who passed away in 2018.  Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren; four brothers; John, Wayne, William, and Raymond McDougall and two sisters, Ellie Fuller and Betty Fox, nieces and nephews.    

Her Funeral will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 12 Noon at the Bible Fellowship Church, Rt. 12, Lyons Falls, where Jeff Ford, Pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.  Calling hours are Tuesday, from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral, at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413, specifically for the Abraham Hospice Facility of Rome. 

Following the cemetery services, all are invited to attend a luncheon at Bible Fellowship Church, where contributions of food may be taken on Tuesday, from 9:00 A.M. on.  Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
