TROOPERS: Local teen faced with felony sex abuse charge in Lewis County

MARTINSBURG- A local juvenile is accused of a felony sex offense charge in Lewis County, authorities say.

The 13-year-old teenage suspect, who is from Glenfield, NY, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the New York State Police (Lowville). The teen is formally charged with one felony count of sex abuse in the first-degree (subjecting sexual contact with another person under the age of 11).

A name or gender was not provided from authorities.

Troopers say the charge stems from a rape compliant back in February in the town of Martinsburg.

At press time, police said the teenage suspect was released on their own recognizance.
