Lewis County- Beaver River’s High School Varsity Boy's Soccer Coach Rich Feistel has been relieved from his duty, pending further action from the school board to accept Superintendent Todd Green’s recommendation of termination.

According to a press release from the school district, an issue regarding Mr. Feistel was brought up involving an incident on September 14, where Feistel allegedly took a team member’s phone and sent out a Snapchat on the popular social media app. The parents of this soccer player, who requested their names not to be used, said the Snapchat message was a picture of their son and had a caption attached to it that appeared to ask for nudes images.

Initially, Superintendent Green said the school took action to investigate and suspended Feistel for three games. With new facts and information recently discovered in the investigation, Superintendent Green made the decision to relieve Feistel from his position.

Green said in the press release that he has asked Tina Becker to serve as an interim coach until a new coach can be brought to the board of education for approval. “It is my belief that this transition is in the best interest of our students, our district and our community and I look forward to the rest of what I am sure will be an exciting and successful soccer season.” Green said.

Officials say the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
