Betty L. Main

Talcottville – Betty L. Main, 92 passed away on April 14,2024 at Lewis County Health System.

She was born in Rome, NY on June 24, 1931 a daughter of Joseph Jr. and Elizabeth Mathis Lallier. She grew up on a farm on Thayer Hill Road, Boonville and graduated from West Leyden School in 1951. She was united in marriage with Sheldon Main on April 16, 1966 at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. He died October 6, 2012. Betty was employed for Sargent’s Chair Factory for over eight years and was a chamber maid at the American Hotel, Boonville. Betty was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens and AARP. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, watching her television programs and playing bingo.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Shelly and Joseph(Chipper) Gydesen and Ann Main; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many cousins and a very special rabbit, Cookie.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Talcottville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post Street, Boonville on Tuesday at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the graveside service.
