Rome Native Killed in the Line of Duty laid to rest on Saturday

ROME-The funeral of a Rome native, who was one of the police officers killed last week was held Saturday in Rome. Hundreds of people attended the funeral and lined the street adjacent to St. John the Baptist Church in Rome to honor Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen who was shot and killed along with Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Hoosock while they responding to an incident in Liverpool on Sunday, April 14h.  Officer Jensen, a graduate of Rome Free Academy, was 29 years old. The national nonprofit organization Tunnels to Towers announced Thursday morning that has settled the mortgage for the Deputy Michael Hoosock who was killed alongside Jensen.  Chairman and C.E.O. of Tunnel for Towers, Frank Siller said, Tunnel to Towers is honored to ensure his family will be able to stay in the home and the community Michael served with pride for his entire life."(Photo Courtesy of WKTV)
