Police: Lewis County man allegedly forced sexual contact with child for nearly a year

MARTINSBURG- A Lewis County man allegedly forced sexual contact upon a child for nearly a year in the town of Martinsburg, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say Thomas A. Roy, 30, of Glenfield, NY was arrested Friday for one felony count of sexual abuse in the first-degree; two misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse in the second-degree and four misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to authorities, Mr. Roy is accused of making forcible and unwanted sexual contact with a child.

Furthermore, police clarified these incidents reportedly occurred over the span of nearly one-year.

Following his arraignment in Lewis County Court, Roy was released on his own recognizance.

Police said an order of protection was issued on the victim’s behalf.
