ROME- A man who allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s place of residence in Rome is now faced with various charges, including felonies, according to the New York State Police.

On Tuesday, Troopers from the Marcy Barracks arrested and charged Christopher M. Hildenbrant, 40, of Rome, NY with one felony count each of burglary in the first-degree and criminal contempt in the first-degree, along with a misdemeanor count of criminal obstruction of breathing, authorities said.

It’s alleged that Hildenbrant forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s residence and grabbed her by the throat as she attempted to run away.

Following processing, police said Hildenbrant was taken to the Oneida County Jail for centralized arraignment.

It was not clarified by police whether Hildenbrant was held or released on his own recognizance.
