Lyons Falls Man Arrested for D.W.I. after Deputies Investigated a Motor Vehicle Accident

VILLAGE OF LYONS FALLS-December 29, 2019.  A 21 year old Lyons Falls man was arrested Saturday morning following an investigation into a one car motor vehicle accident on Markham Street in the Village of Lyons Falls.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies report that Charles J. Ward was operating a 2011 Subaru Forester south bound on Markham Street when his vehicle struck a mailbox and telephone pole. Upon investigating Ward, deputies said he appeared to be under the influence and Ward subsequently failed field sobriety tests on the scene. He was arrested and transported to the Lewis County Public Safety Building where he reportedly registered a .11% Blood Alcohol Content. Ward was charged with Driving While Intoxicated as well as several traffic violations. He was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of West Turin Court at a later date.
