Lewis County Hospital Foundation welcomes $1,000 donation to support Fund for Hope

LOWVILLE- Lewis County Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce a $1,000 donation from Community Bank to help support the Fund for Hope, a program that supports local cancer patients who face additional expenses related to their treatment, like traveling.

Last-year, officials say the Fund for Hope distributed over $50,000 to help Lewis County cancer patients with travel costs and other expenses associated with their treatments.

According to the Hospital Foundation, Fund for Hope users may receive up to $1,000 annually to pay for gas, tolls, hotels, and food while traveling to treatments and appointments.

To clarify, the Fund for Hope does not pay medical expenses or medication costs.
