Carthage man jailed on felony rape accusations

Carthage- Authorities say a rape investigation has led to the arrest of a Carthage, NY man on various felony and misdemeanor accusations.

On Friday, State Police in Carthage say they arrested Eric J, Woods, 37, for felony rape in the 1st-degree, felony criminal sex act in the 2nd-degree and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to investigators, Mr. Woods is accused of allegedly having sexual contact with a girl for the past six-years, who was under the age of 17.

After his arraignment in the Village of Carthage Court, Woods was remanded to the Lewis County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
