Boonville NY Forward update: State officials approve 13 member Local Planning Committee

BOONVILLE- A Local Planning Committee, consisting of 13 members, has been approved by state officials for the village of Boonville and its NY Forward $4.5 million grant.

According to an announcement from the village office, the individuals have been contacted and the first LPC meeting is tentatively scheduled for late April to early May.

Each LPC member will attend a brief training course wherein they will gain additional knowledge of their responsibilities.

Six LPC meetings will be held in person and are open to the public. There will be time reserved at the end of each meeting for public comment.

The meetings will be publicized in advance.

In addition, a project website will be established and regular press releases will be publicized to keep everyone abreast of all plan related developments.

According to village officials, the process of meeting, obtaining applications from interested candidates and moving the applications onto the Department of State for review, is expected to be approximately a 7–10-month process.
