Poland teenager and Poland resident charged in alleged town of Marcy assault

DEERFIELD- A local resident and a local teenager are both faced with charges in the wake of an alleged assault in the Mohawk Valley, authorities say.

On Wednesday morning, the New York State Police arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth and an 18-year-old person, both from Poland, NY. The teen is formally charged with one felony count of assault (causing physical injury with a weapon), along with one misdemeanor count each of criminally possessing a weapon in the fourth-degree (w/intent to use) and false written statement.

Furthermore, the 18-year-old is formally charged with one misdemeanor count of false written statement. Their names or genders were not provided.

According to Troopers, these charges all stem from reports of an assault in the town of Deerfield.

At press time, police said an investigation was pending.

The 18-year-old was issued with an appearance ticket, while the teenager was released to a third-party.
