Betty J. Pfender

December 16, 1930 to February 17, 2013

Boonville- Betty J. Pfendler, 82, formerly of Jackson Hill Road, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care Facility, in Clinton, where she had resided since May, 2011.

A native and lifelong resident of Boonville, Betty was born on December 16, 1930, a daughter of Glenn R. and Marjorie Judd Pfendler. She graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1950. For many years she was employed as a housekeeper at the Headwaters Motor Lodge in Boonville, retiring as head of the house keeping department and thereafter, she was employed for the late Liv and Irene Lansing, of Boonville. For many years she made her home with Edward F. and Emma (Dorn) Brown, of Jackson Hill; after Mr. Brown passed away in 1984, Betty became a caregiver for Emma.

Betty was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville.

She is survived by one brother William O. (Bernice) Pfendler, Westernville; three sisters, Marion (Charles) Brown, Boonville, Doris Howard, Ava, and Diana (Jim) Jackson, Boonville; nieces and nephews, Steve, Jim, Rick, Doug Howard, Lori, Tammy, Cindy and Jeff Brown, Jim and Don Jackson and Vanessa and Brian Pfendler; great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Betty's family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Bryant Unit at Lutheran Care Facility for the compassionate care rendered to Betty.

Funeral Services will be Friday beginning with a 9:15 AM Prayer at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, with Rev. Sean P. O'Brien, officiating. Interment in the spring will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Memorial Fund, 110 Charles St. Boonville, NY 13309, or to the Bryant Unit at the Lutheran Care Inc. 108-110 Utica Rd. Clinton, NY 13323.
