It was another great weather weekend with only .38 inchesof rain early Sunday morning and late in the afternoon in the village. Onceagain, the rain clouds split with heavy rain above and below Boonvilleduring the day.Boonville Elks Lodge #2158 hosted their annual summer clambake with 220attendees. The Elks prepared for the crowd by offering 880 dozen clams bothsteamed and raw, 58 pounds of their sliced prime rib for sandwiches, countlessburgers, hotdogs and sausage sandwiches, salads, sweet corn, and emptiedeight barrels of beer. You can be sure no one went home hungry.
Tomorrow, Ruby and Ronnie Norton of Lowville celebratetheir 50th wedding anniversary with happy wishes from Brad, Kelley, Joi,Terry, Stacie, Tyler, Heather and Mike.Singer Tony Bennett was born in Queens, NY, 86 years ago. No one can sing,"I left my heart in San Francisco" like he did in 1962.It was a 1,000 mile trip under the ice as the U.S. nuclear submarineNautilus arrived at the geographic North Pole in 1958 being the first underseavoyage to reach that location. The Nautilus was taken out of service on March3, 1980 and was put on display at the Submarine Force Museum in Graton,Conneticut.</
