FRIDAY, AUGUST 10

A nasty thunder, lightning and rainstorm moved through
the area late yesterday afternoon and continued through the night. Here at
the station, rain totaled one inch with a 30 mph gust at 4:18 p.m. On the
Rector Road, out of Martinsburg, Rick Beyer reported 41 mph was measured at
12:59 a.m.

Today Earl and Jane Axtell of Port Leyden celebrate their 63rd anniversary
