The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a 21-year-old man Wednesday in Cold Brook on a parole violation charge. Mark D. Gauthier, 21, was arrested without incident at a home on Main Street after marshals say he was found hiding in a crawl space in the attic.
According to officials, Gauthier was involved in an incident in Little Falls on Friday that led to new criminal charges for weapons and marijuana possession. As a result, New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision obtained an arrest warrant for violation of parole. The Utica division of the U.S. Marshals, New York State Division of corrections and Community Supervision, Oneida County Sheriff's Office, Utica Police Department, Herkimer County Probation Office and New York State Police all participated in the investigation.
